  • Verses of the 1st song reminds me so much of "forever young"

  • I think of most of today’s music as disposable. Most songs don’t hold their value after a few months.

  • It makes me absolutely proud that I did not know one of these songs, and just a couple of the artist names. It makes me sad that you were slightly surprised and happy when you actually heard a real guitar being used. You awkwardly tried to play along with many of them, but it's hard to play along with an imaginary band isn't it?

  • Jesus Rick. Can I pay you to play guitar for me? I'd love to hear your play post punk

  • Too my ears there is too much treatment with the voices irregardles of any of the songs the way they are sung and the tonality is the same. There is no soul in any of the singing except for the first song. When the emperor wears no clothes you realise its all processed mush, much like ready meals imitates what it is suppossed to be but without the vitamins and minerals and Taste.

  • Music has changed so much recently, for the worse in my opinion. (I like rock music). The only artist on the charts now that I even remotely listen to is Billie Eilish, and that's only like a couple of songs.

  • Lovely analysis and deconstruction but I still feel people think these songs are decent only because they haven't listened to some real chord progression masters like The Decemberists or Beach Bunny.

  • It's a shame that in 34+35 they didn't use the strings at the beginning of the song more throughout the song. I know that Rick generally has a distaste for provocative songs, but I think the production side of it could've been really unique with more of a strings focus and more acoustic drums compared to the Trap drums being used. It reminded me of Adam Neely's reharm of "Thank You, Next"

  • What we're up against has not changed. There are lazy, untalented people among us. Rather than work at their craft, they instead attempt to bamboozle/shame others into accepting their work as genuine and good. You, as a person able to discern, can look at the body of work and decide for yourself. The musician that says "I don't study theory or technique because it would interfere with my creative process" is a con artist. The painter who maintains they never study technique or perspective because it would hinder their creative process is also a con artist. The people that hold up these charlatan's work in praise are pompous you-know-whats. All that being said, each piece of art can be evaluated on it's own merits. An artist with limited range and talent can still produce great works if they don't overreach. There is absolutely nothing wrong with simplicity.

  • I've seen your videos before and enjoyed them, and just realized I was not subscribed. Now I am. I really enjoyed watching you play along with song 1. I'm writing this now because I suspect the songs are going to get worse. XD I wonder if this guy automatically figures out chord progressions any time he's listening to music.

  • I'm looking to hear emotional resonance, some sort of story in a lyric beyond "I threw my cell phone down and did blah blah blah..." - something that takes me away into another world, not just a recital of the most bland actions possible delivered in a voice that sounds like its owner took three hits to the cranium from a ball peen hammer as they woke up from a nap after eating three corporate tacos laced with preservatives. That being said, the tunes are better this time and thanks again for your great work.

  • That last song, Good Days, it has such a nice guitar track but i can't really enjoy the song, I feel as though the vocals add nothing to it, like they're disjointed and only bringing what would be an otherwise beautiful piece down. just my opinion
